Hello all,
I am delighted to announce that we have finally found a working Leslie for our project. A fellow in northern Germany is selling his studio Leslie 760 for a very reasonable price to us, and we are going to pick it up on Wednesday the 26th of October.
I would never have thought that even buying a Leslie is a feat in this area. There are people who are willing to sell, but are not capable (either it is broken or too far), there are people who have but do not want to sell, there are people who want to sell, and then suddenly decide not too, there are people who are willing to sell, but at a price much above the norm, and there are people who just don't want anything to do with us. But in the end, patience brought us a great Leslie that will fulfill our needs.
Best,
Chris M.

Leslie Sources
Hello all,
We've had many problems finding Leslie, broken or not, but finally we have found someone who can ship from Germany.
Best,

Second hand Leslie
Hello all,
We've found someone in the Gland area who has a second hand leslie with some broken parts. The audio system in it is broken (both the amplifier and the crossover) and the axle of the bass rotor is bent. This is ideal, because we can reposition everything to our liking for a low price, but the seller isn't sure whether he wants to sell it or to fix it, so we have to wait and see.
In the meantime, we've found several people in the neighboring countries (France, Italy and Germany) that are selling Leslies and we're still looking.
Best,
Chris M.

Update 1
Hello all,
We are trying to build a Leslie Speaker but it will hopefully be better than the original.
We are trying to ameliorate two aspects of the Leslie: we hope to make it smaller and with a novel design.
Here are a few photos of our progress with the main cabinet (the slits are on the side).
We are facing some key issues that will be hard to solve. What motor system do we use? What speaker system do we use? How do we mount it all in a way that it will be stable and not squeak? How can we cut down on the size without changing the sound?
We might have to start from scratch again, but we will end up with a working Leslie at one point or another.
Best,
Chris M.
